In a distant sacred land, many centuries ago
A dark liquid of pure metal ascended from below
The earth shook beneath them, and mighty winds began to blow
And what had been unleashed upon them nobody could know
And people ran and cowards fled from the mysterious flow
But the true believers stayed to witness it and so
What they saw would change the world and unite the people's faith in heavy metal
All looked up to the heavens above, and with a thunderous roar
A lightning bolt from the gods above set ablaze the blackened floor
And one brave warrior stepped forth, and though quaking to his core
He dared to taste the lake of fire forged from iron ore
As the steel touched his tongue he was fearful no more
And he declared triumphantly this drink was sent by Thor!
What he tasted would change the world, and unite the people's faith in heavy metal
And now we'll go and spread the word of heavy metal!
